Meeting with the new director of Dubai Ministry of Health Mr. Almidori:

The Iranian Hospital prides itself in developing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with all UAE organizations. With this in mind Dr. Afshar, Director General of the Iranian Hospital, along with other senior hospital managers attended a meeting with Mr. Almidor, Director of Dubai Ministry of Health. During this session Dr. Afshar took the opportunity to congratulate Mr. Almidor on his new appointment as head of Dubai Health authority. He then presented his comprehensive account on delivering health care services over the past 40 years. During the presentation Dr. Afshar made particular reference the enormous progress made in the development of better quality services. He attributed this to the direct up shot of mutual commitment, cooperation and dedication between the parties involved. He thanked all the UAE governmental organizations involved in making the above possible - with special mentioned of the Dubai Ministry of Health- for their cooperation and support. He also invited Mr. Almidor to visit the Iranian Hospital to experience the world-class services it has to offer. Mr Almidori thanked Dr. Afshar and his colleagues for their tireless pursuit in finding new ways to provide high quality health care services to all. He stated that they were honored to provide support and assistance to the Iranian Hospital.

The General Consulate of South Korea in Emirates Visited Iranian Hospital Dubai:

The General Consulate of South Korea, Mr Young Jong Hong, accompanied by the founder of Diplomat Magazine, Dr Monsour Malik, visited the Iranian Hospital on 10th December 2012. During the visit Dr Afshar, Director General of the Iranian Hospital, presented a brief history of the hospital highlighting more than 40 years of experience providing specialty and sub specialty services to the public. During the hospital tour the guests commented on how impressed they were with the modern facilities, cleanliness and quality of service the hospital has to offer. They were particularly impressed with the V.I.P section which is comparative to a luxury hotel in the Emirates! They also visited the hospital’s Awards & Appreciations exhibit which holds an impressive collection of commendations and accolades from the United Arab Emirates and Iran. The General Consulate of South Korea showed a keen interest in Iranian Islamic culture and hopes to visit Iran in the near future. Mr Young Jong Hong declared that he would encourage the 6000 Korean expats living in the UAE to avail of all health care services provided by the Iranian Hospital.

Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal success in the 18th Razi congress:

Ministry of Health’s Knowledge and value based approach is the Iranian hospital Dubai’s mission as an Iranian abroad organization with more than 40 years experiences delivering health care services to the human beings. Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal is an international, English language, peer- reviewed journal dealing with general Medicine and Surgery, Disaster Medicine and Health Policy. It is an official Journal of the Iranian Hospital Dubai and is published monthly. The Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal aims to publish the highest quality material, both clinical and scientific, on all aspects of Medicine and Surgery. It includes articles related to research findings, technical evaluations, and reviews. In addition it provides a forum for the exchange of information on all aspects of Medicine and Surgery, including educational issues. Iranian Hospital Dubai is honored of managing an ISI and PubMed indexed journal which could achieve the first level in the 18th Razi medical research’s congress between all Iranian national and international journals. We hope to reach the better knowledge development and maintain our value oriented goals in near future.

Another Achievement in Scientific field for Iranian Hospital-Dubai:

Our leading orthopedic surgeon Dr. Farid Ghasemzadeh is selected as one of the moderators of the world orthopedic conference in Dubai. He is moderately the first scientific session on Wednesday morning 28 Nov along with Dr. Maurice Hinsenkamp the president of SICOT society .

Iran honor to expand the exterritorial services:

Due to Iran Red Crescent society Medical services extension in cooperation with other countries and displaying the Iranian medical knowledge and management, Dr. Afshar the director general of the Iranian hospital –Dubai visited the president of Republic of Guinea professor Alpha Conse in Abu Dhabi on the third of Nov. 2012, to negotiate about building a new hospital in Guinea. In this meeting the representative of Iran’s ambassador Mr Soleimani and Guinea’s minister of mining, minister of foreign affairs, central bank governor and the ambassador of Guinea in UAE , Mr Souare were attended. For further mutual cooperation such as Guinea’s patient treatment in Iranian hospital-Dubai a contract between two countries was signed by Guinea’s president to present to the Iran’s red crescent society chief.

Granting hearing to a 4-year old deaf child with advanced sub-specialty cochlear implant surgery:

Congenital deaf children with active hearing cells are the best candidates for cochlear implant surgery after the age 1 and before 5 because with rehabilitation and speech therapy interventions it leads to success. From 10 years ago, Iranian hospital have been launched the sub-specialty ward of cochlear implant by Dr. Farhadi and Dr. Daneshi and today we are continuing this aim with Professor Mohammad Mahdi Ghasemi of Mashad University and head of ENT Dept. of that and head of Cochlear implant surgery Centre. The most recent patient who has benefited from Cochlear implant is a 4-year old girl with severe deafness which was under ENT specialty care and hearing aids that couldn’t help her more. So on 26th of September 2012, professor Ghasemi did a successful cochlear implant surgery on her. Dr. Afshar, Director General of Iranian Hospital, said that: “Because of the high expenditures of such surgeries, UAES’ NGOs and charity organizations play an important role to cover part of the patient’s implant prosthesis costs and because of their support she can experience the childhood feeling without any deaf concerns in near future.” We all thank God and all donors and charities for their support and hope her God blessing for the rest of life. Iranian hospital is proud of having ENT specialists and sub-specialists besides having equipped speech therapy, Audiometry and Tympanometry Centre to serve these groups of patients.

Lecture on Menier’s disease by ENT specialty Professor Hamed Sajjadi:

Iranian Hospital as its strategic goal is to knowledge expansion and data sharing for improvement in services’ quality and patient safety invites internal and external physician and specialists from all over the world to present the healthcare progress in diseases’ treatment. On Monday 1st of Oct 2012, the Iranian hospital presented the new findings about Meniere’s disease by ENT specialty Professor Hamed Sajjadi in Stanford University. During this session He discussed about the latest achievements of diagnosis and treatment for Meniere disease. It was followed by a Question and Answer session and opened to every Iranian and other nationalities physicians and specialists who interested in. It was consisted of 2 CPDs for attendants. 

Advanced Hospital Information System in the Hospital :

Iranian Hospital- Dubai has signed a contract with IMTAC TECH L.L.C. to supply, Implementation and Customization of an integrated hospital information system (HIMS). This new system which concludes the forth generation technology of HIS system and benefits from latest technology in the field contains all necessary and complementary hospital management system including: PACS, LIS, Administration, Finance, Inpatient outpatient services, pharmacy, Specialty units, Operation Theater services, Online Appointment services, Ambulance service, Homecare, & . As planned this system will lead to a significant upgrade in proving medical services which will facilitate patient admission along with other healthcare services. 

Updates on Breast Cancer :

Breast Cancer conference was held successfully by participation of more than 200 Physicians, Surgeons, Specialists, Pathologists, Radiologists, preventive medicine specialists and nurses. Latest updates of treatments for breast cancer, Reconstructive surgery after tumor eradication, diagnostic methods, pathologic findings and role of pathologist in patients care & genetic aspects was discussed by some of the most prominent professors from all around the world. At the end more than 90% of the participants evaluated the conference with highly positive content and influential on their practice.

Appreciation ceremony of health care institutions that have achieved international accreditation ,

Another achievement by Iranian Hospital:

In appreciation ceremony was arranged on 16 may 2012 for Health care institutes have achieved International accreditation, Iranian Hospital was tribute as a member of private healthcare centers in Dubai. In this ceremony which was held under the patronage of His Highness Shikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Rashid Hospital, a large number of public and private hospitals & healthcare centers were participated.

Dr. Afshar’s meeting with Director General of Dubai Health Authority :

On 3rd April Dr. Afshar, Director General of Iranian Hospital met his Excellency Qudhi Saeed Al Morooshid, Director General of Dubai Health Authority in his office. During this visit the two parties had an interlocution about their concerns such as long-term planning for quality improvement and also discussed health tourism policy. Director General of Iranian Hospital explained the latest progress of this hospital in providing health care services.

Visiting his Excellency General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim  :

Director General of Iranian Hospital visited commander General of Dubai police, his Excellency General Dahi Khalfan Tamim in his office on 8th of April. They discussed their concerns issues and exchanged their points of view about healthcare services specially in cooperation with Dubai police and providing this services to Dubai police members.

Meeting His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi  :

Dr. Afshar Director Iranian Hospital visited His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi ruler of Ajman and Member of supreme council. While welcoming Dr. Afshar and accompanied delegation, His Highness expressed his appreciation of Iranian Hospital’s services providing to Dubai residents. Dr. Afshar explained about various facility & services at Iranian Hospital and all affiliated clinics & departments. Moreover he described the modernization has been practiced in the old building and completion of the new building and processes of Accreditation in this hospital. The two parties emphasized on bilateral cooperation & discussed the possibility of setting up medical specialty and subspecialty courses in Ajman Medical University. At the end, His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi awarded Iranian Hospital the Royal symbol of Ajman Bureau. This symbol has been posted on the wall in the main part of the hospital.

Attention Desist Hyperactive Disorder Conference  :

ADHD conference which was hold on March 9th & 10th gained the admiration of the participants. On the first day was a panel discussion, with presence of more than 30 psychiatrists from all around U.A.E. In this meeting, updated methods of diagnosis and treatment for ADHD were discussed. The second day, which was held by participation of more than 110 psychiatrists, psychologist, pediatricians & psychiatry ward nurses, detailed topics on scientific updates of diagnosing ADHD, was worked out.

Second cycle of Iranian Hospital Accreditation process  :

Regarding the second cycle of Iranian Hospital Accreditation process, a 6 days training course was held to discuss Qmentum program . This course which was held from Feb. 24-29 included workshops on:

1- Enhancing Quality Health Services: Patient Safety and ROPs

2- Leading Change Management Effectively

3- Policies and Procedures in Health Care Organizations Attended this workshop more than 240 managers, physicians, nurses, technicians & administrative staff of Iranian Hospital. This program executed based on continuous quality improvement in this hospital and its concern was increasing patient safety and decreasing risk factors and will have a significant influence on medical service improvement.

Work shop of updates on Infertility  :

Friday 13/01/2012 a workshop was held to discuss updates on Infertility and latest achievements in this regard was presented by Prof. Masood Khatami from New York Medical School and founder and director of Infertility Foundation in New York. Attended this workshop a large number of Gynecologists and Infertility experts from various government and non government medical centers in Dubai and Sharjah to exchange their scientific findings about infertility. 

2012 laparoscopy workshop :

Laparoscopy workshop program of Regional Laparoscopy Training Center of Richard-Wolf Company (Germany) at Iranian Hospital for year 2012 has been indicated. In this program advanced specialty workshop for different fields such as Gynecology & General surgery has been considered. Also, in this advanced workshop, animal lab and live surgery is scheduled to provide qualified education.
